and then it started storming.

"Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass."
Anton Chekhov

There isn't the same light, day-long drizzle here that I had all month long in Europe.
Here, it storms, but it only lasts a few minutes.
I miss the all-day-rainyness, but it's so nice to have actual storms, with thunder and lighting.
My room, which lacks in light most of the time, gets amazing light during storms.

I'm in the mood to re-paint my room. We've lived in this house for four years, and it's been the same yellow the entire time. I'm ready for something different.
I like "Cool Pool," but I don't know, I change my mind too quickly to paint it a color like that.
If I don't get the job tomorrow, maybe I can try to become the person who names paint chips, because really, what kind of a name is Cool Pool?

have a happy Monday.

  1. I love these pictures, especially the flower. I have one like that. :)

My room is a boring blue leftover from when it was my sister's. I'd like to change it, but painting is so much work. Heh. Also, you should be the person who names paint chips. That would be fun.

  4. My room is white, with a red chimmney breast. I want it all white, including furniture... But I'm not allowed to sabotage my nice matching furniture, sadly.
You would have to call one shade of yellow 'Rudy Steiner's Hair'.
    Good luck with the job!

  7. Yeah, the name "Cool pool" is lame. I think you should do something light green. It's been cloudy here almost every day for the past week, and I miss the sun! Hope you get the job!

  8. Ah, I'm envious of people that actually enjoy the rain. It's always raining here, but I can't stand it. I need sun to thrive!

I love the cool pool color, and think we should all just ignore the name of it... haha. I hope you figure out how you want to fix up your room! It's always nice to change things around every so often.

  9. Kendall- aww thank you! it would be a fun job, wouldn't it? :)

Mary Ann- they could have at least given it a name that doesn't rhyme!

    Jana- yellow sounds perfect :)

Libby- they'd still match if they were white! of course...what is yellow without that shade?

    MDD- thanks so much dear!

    Belly B- :)

PB&J- I like light green, but I think I'd get tired of it too quickly.

Natalie- where do you live? I wish it rained more here. ignoring the name sounds perfect to me. :)

  10. Good luck with the job, Katie! The other day, I picked up many paint chips similar to the 'Cool Pool' one. That's such a nice colour, by the way, but it has a lame name - like you said. ;) Ever since I was little, I wanted to be the person who names the paint colours. I would still love that, actually.
